Our goal was to invigorate the space and connect the college to the community. Working with subject matter experts at the college, we developed “ambient learning” opportunities that appear throughout the school. We integrated local content in every zone and consulted native representatives for indigenous people’s stories.

Each wing of the college had a theme; science, literature, history, art, etc. The goal was to inform and inspire through creative use of environmental graphics in these areas. Coordination with the Detroit Institute of Arts allowed us to create reproductions of famous paintings, bringing art within reach of the students.
